UQBA is one of Australia’s largest and established student societies, bringing together 2,000+ students from across disciplines. For over two decades, we have connected students with industry, fostered a vibrant community, and delivered experiences that shape both university life and future careers.
Our Story
Founded in 2000, UQBA was established to support the professional development of UQ students with an interest in business, economics, law, and related fields. What began as a small student initiative has grown into a leading society with a strong alumni network and a reputation for delivering high-impact programs and events.

UQBA plays a fundamental role in bridging the gap between university and the professional world. Through flagship initiatives such as Professional Pathways, Corporate Connections, the Women in Business Breakfast, Corporate Walkabout, and our Consulting Case Competition, we provide members with direct access to industry leaders across a wide range of sectors.

Our success is driven by a commitment to innovation, autonomy, and meaningful partnerships. This dedication was recognised in 2025, when UQBA was named UQ Union’s Best Overall Club, adding to a proud legacy that began with our first win in 2016. Today, UQBA continues to build a supportive, forward-thinking community that empowers students to thrive both during their time at university and beyond.
